Overview

The team at Chinese Historical Society of America (CHSA) San Francisco developed an immersive Augmented Reality Experience to commemorate Warrior's third season, enabling us to explore and engage with 19th Century Chinatown. This Warrior experience was located across three murals in San Francisco, Los Angeles and New York to promote the show's new season.

The Augmented Reality (AR) is included in CHSA's Walking Tour, which is available at the museum's San Francisco Chinatown site.

My Role

My duties as art director and AR designer include presenting concepts, placing 3D objects on 8th Wall WebAR, and testing the experience. I work closely with developers and Cashmere to brainstorm and troubleshoot to ensure quality work is a top priority for our clients.

Enter Chinatown

The emphasis in this WebAR experience is on three key areas: Education, Promotion, and Foundation - all dedicated to celebrating the rich history of Chinese Americans and the enduring legacy of Chinatown in predominantly Chinese communities across the United States.

With three button clicks, users can explore the show's weapons, view the newest trailer, and learn more about the Bruce Lee Foundation.

The Outcome

The interactive AR mural was activated across three locations - San Francisco, Los Angeles and New York. It was an incredible experience to work alongside CHSA, HBO and artists to share unique stories of Chinatown in the United States. As a result, this project has received an award for best extended reality campaign for Shorty's 8th Annual Impact Award.
